Transforming Stonehouse - An Introduction

Transforming Stonehouse is the title for the idat209 module of my stage 2 Digital Art and Technology course.  The aim of this module is to study the Stonehouse area of Plymouth and over the course of the year, remodel it in a new way.  As the project progresses the focus will be placed on a specific area of interest within Stonehouse which will then be investigated in depth to produce a dynamic reinvisaging of the temporal, invisible and physical elements of the location.  An estimated outline of the Stonehouse area is shown in the image below:

There are a number of different possible areas of interest within the Stonehouse boundaries.  These include The Royal William Yard, The Princess Yachts yacht makers, and the Stonehouse settlement itself.  The area also has important historical context due to its involvement with World War II and its current regeneration since the war will be a major factor in the construction of this project.
