These images unveil a hidden layer of our environment, a trail of the passing light that cannot be seen by our own eyes due to the speed of light. However these images are not completely representative of the paths that really occur in the environment as the images were distorted quite a lot by the movement of the car when the image was taken, leading to the shaking unsteady nature of the lines. This does however produce and interesting result as the light traces made on a number of these images almost look as if they make words, due to the scrawling nature of the image. This unveils an interesting concept of communication through light which is in some ways what we intend to achieve in our projection at the end of this project.

Stonehouse - Time-based study
Relating to different elements of light art and movement, our group decided to get together and go on a car journey around Stonehouse to video and photograph the location, making our studies of the area more time based. In particular the pictures we intended to take were long exposure images as this would capture the light in the area over a length of time, matching with our focus on light and the hidden structures made by it when captured over time. The following are some of the images we took showing the hidden light paths of the environment.
